The Snowman

When this video came out, it must have been around 1989 because my youngest son, David, looked very much like the little boy. I knew when I saw it for the first time, that it would be very special to me and it is.

At the end of the Christmas period, I would watch The Snowman and at the point where he melts away, I would know that Christmas was over.

Christmas is melting away from me too. I go back to England in two week's time, back to my house and my sons and my little grandson, Dylan.

Perhaps there will be a trace of snow on the lawn...

Nice memories! I know you are anxious to see that little grandson again. It must be hard to have so much on either side of the Pond, Star! It would be hard for me, I know.

I know firsthand how heavy the heart can be, having loved ones on both sides of an ocean, one foot in this country and the other in England....
We must be thinking alike, today it was blustery and rain, I treated myself to a couple of hours of 'me time', watching Dylan Thomas's wonderful film, A Child's Christmas in Wales, it brought back so many memories.
By the way, your orange and white kitty, is a dead ringer fr my Oliver, how sweet :)
Hugs,
~Jo

It doesn't seem like January -- listening to the rain on the roof right now . . .

ooh Star, what a beautiful song, and video! I've watched it with my daughter, and we both loved it very much. But we also found the song a little sad...
Can imagine it express your thoughts and feelings.

Oh shucks, I couldn't watch the video. It is apparently not available in the UK. We're trying to keep the weather fine for your return. Hope we succeed.

Dear S, it's been so long!
I truly missed blogland however work must come first. I am not in England any longer, nor in Brazil and work is taking me to different places! I am in the US at the moment. I am enjoying the lovely weather in sunny Florida. Am sending you an email right now.
Hope all is well with you and your lovely Dylan and family!
All the best
Gina

I remember that.

The tomatoes do need a little encouragement to get the skins off. However it's a whole lot easier than skinning them in hot water.

It sounds like you have dear ones in the USA and the UK. It will be fun for you to arrive in England and see your family there.
